You can't be Australian and not know the rules of cricket!

But well done England. Certainly the better team. As for the feeling in Australia, some people couldn't be more shattered if their homes destroyed and familes missing. Some Aussies aren't taking it well.

Ah well, 18 months and it'll be on again! :D

And will 'Warney' still be playing?

Great series and two great teams. I think cricket in general will owe a lot to these guys in the coming years.

See you all on MR in 2007 for 'Anyone for cricket MkII' thread!

    The transfer cable & black color = $99 ;)
    j/k :D

    Oh that's right I had forgotten. ;)

Actually it might be worth it to me if it would magically allow me to to stream files that weren't WMV. Then I'd buy it even if it wasn't painted black. :)

I sometimes walk out in the snow without a jacket or a sweater, just a T-shirt. I would feel the cold pressing against my skin, not as cold, but as an unusual sensation. It's funny. When I changed my pain threshold in my mind, I was able to cope with the cold weather pretty easily.

I'm sure this could be applied to child birth.

Gruber said it was a blatant guess. He said this wasn't info from one of his sources.

Then let me revise my statement and say this is why other media should attempt to independently verify their sources and then add a dash of common sense.

Walt Disney died and the company he built still strives to this day.

GSM is not compatible with EVDO, all things considered I would put my money on a quad-band GSM phone as it would give you the largest subscriber base globally with a single unit. Also gives you global roaming.

Besides – Sprint & Verizon are like the Microsofts of the telco world. I can’t give them money, and I really want a smart phone that works with my new MBP.

I'm kind of a newbie to the whole GSM and EV-DO thing. Which is faster EV-DO Revision A or the CINGULAR EDGE network?

IF a GSM phone or NETWORK is so slow, what good is it? E-mail? How are we going to run Mobile iChat on our new Apple iPhones if we are running on a slow network?

By the way... Cingular Wireless is like the Commodore of the tellco world. I don't know how, I just like how excited everybody gets when somebody mentions Commodore 64/128/Amiga 500 etc.

    Peace

Urgh. I really hope this mentally isn't passed on. Mini iOS games versus multi million games with years in development...
Unless you're joking. I hope you're joking! It sounds like you're joking.
Sounds like he is serious.. j/k

seriously they should stream the downloads for $30 and they still make more profit that way.

A great recovery by Straus and Flintoff. Made it to tea with only 4 down. Now they need to be carefull not to loose any quick wickets right after the break...

Well, considering Core Solo is bound to be much cheaper than Core 2 Duo, I'd say that's a good COST reason to keep it.I don't see the Mac mini getting Core 2 Duo anytime soon.

Core Duo's price difference between a Core Solo CPU is only $30-40.

Love the new shuffle design, how much smaller can they make these things?!?! I feel my fat fingers might struggle.

I was thinking exactly the same thing with the convienience of the old style shuffle, was very handy for popping uni work on and what not, simple plug and go effort. shame that has gone in order to make things smaller.

    cath

I was thinking exactly the same thing. The old shuffle was an excellent data key. I'd use it for running in the morning and data during the day. I can't keep my eyes off the shiny new little thing though.

If they bring something out to protect it from the elements when I'm bouncing around the roads on those cold wet sinter mornings we have in wales, then I think my old shuffle is going to make its way to my bro, he broke his a couple of weeks ago.

Apple continues to be Apple. Great products that are more than just "technology." Apple is a lifestyle choice. Apple's products put it a galaxy apart from Microsoft. That's why Stewart couldn't help but be so gushy over them all the same. The iPad and all it brings to the table, for example, shows just how different these two companies are.

This has nothing to do with 1984 or "big brother", etc. Apple *cannot* be the underdog after a certain point of success. You get big enough and popular enough, your "underdog" status is gone. When you're within sights of Exxon Mobil, sitting 3rd largest company in the US, you're as far from "underdog" as a hawk from the moon. Which is not a problem. But Apple still takes the attitude and risk-taking approach of an innovative startup. We tend to attach a bit too much sentimentality to this notion of The Underdog. The talking points that Stewart pulled out have been dismissed long ago by cooler and clearer-thinking heads, but it might be a fresh perspective to the average user. This is where Apple potentially loses unjustly.

"Well done by Jon Stewart" because Jon Stewart succeeded in his purpose: to portray Apple as the bad guy (despite gushing over them), whereas the facts could not as yet bear that out. It's irresponsible, but it's opinion, and opinion is allowed. The problem is that it came out of Jon Stewart's mouth, and a lot of people tend to take him seriously. He's a very effective speaker (insofar as political satire goes.) When someone like that goofs it's really unfortunate. You lost me after the second sentence.

Just got my iPhone from Best buy. I was #8 and #9 for the fiance. I was told they got a 1st shipment in, but it only had 5 iPhones, and that was on June 22nd. They did not distribute them. They then told me (after calling them earlier today at 10:30am) that they got a 2nd shipment which had 10 more iPhones. So a total of 15 iPhones are available on launch day. Pretty poor.

I was the first person to get the iPhones for the day, as the other 13 iPhone people were still in the process of being called to make appointments, and most were working that day. While in the mobile department, I saw the phones in the locked cupboard awaiting their masters.

All beer sucks. That beer has been dressing itself up like wine for the last few decades or so is hysterical. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. IMO, there's no difference between Budweiser and Chimay, except that Chimay manages to be even more disgusting. Don't even get me started on crap like Guinness. And before anyone says anything, I used to work in good restaurants for 20 years, I've had just about every beer you can think of- all of them are nasty. Beer is the only beverage that tastes even worse the more you pay. Hey- I tried it. :p:p:p:p

Beer is easily the worst alcoholic beverage on the face of the planet, right next to grappa.

That is a personal preference lee. And despite your opinion there are major differences in quality, taste and process. Btw. technically Guinness isn't a beer according to German standards because they don't have a pure yeast based fermentation but a lacto-bacillus "tainted" fermentation, hence the bitter taste and texture. I had some very interesting discussions with friends in Munich who have brewing degrees and work at some of the major German breweries on this very topic.

As for Grappa, what gives? I find it very pleasant when mixed with Espresso after a good italian meal. If you want to talk nasty then you could probably argue Ouzo or Raki, but that maybe just because I absolutely abhor the taste of anis.

I personally can't stand any type of whiskey, rum or brandy unless severely diluted and mixed into a cocktail because I happened to have gotten myself disgustingly pissed on whiskey coke once and ever since then get nauseous at just the smell of something even remotely resembling whiskey. Does that mean I don't believe there are different levels of quality etc.. Nope, it's just not my cup of tea.

As for wine, what other forms of alcoholic beverage have too little in snobbery, wine as gone overboard on. No friggin' bottle of grape juice is worth more than 150$ a pop, 250$ if I squeeze both my eyes shut and count to ten. Anything beyond that is complete and utter horsesh*t.

    Cheers,

    Ahmed
