As for the price - everyone complains that it is too expensive for "a mount". But, it's not just a mount. A simple mount wouldn't be worth more than about $30. It's got a GPS chip in it that is similar in quality to a standalone units GPS chip, plus a speaker (the built-in speaker isn't loud or clear enough) and a mic. I understand the enhanced GPS chip is accessed via Bluetooth, so other GPS programs can use it instead of the on-board GPS chip. It can serve as a handsfree speakerphone, so no need to buy a car kit if your car doesn't support Bluetooth (mine don't).
All together, I honestly do think this price tag is a little high - it would be more reasonable at $99, but I'm still thinking seriously about getting one.
The point is you can buy a dedicated GPS unit for less than the tomtom mount and app.

Hrm.. When I hear "Mac Pro", I think of a giant behemoth of a computer, with super internals for crazy processing power for graphics design or whatever your poison may be.. Just to be clear, I'm well aware that there are cheaper ways of building a crazy computer that would put a Mac Pro to shame, but I'm just focusing on the Mac Pro here.. When I think of something rack-mountable, I think of servers, which leads me to think of the XServe and not a smaller Mac Pro (though, having the said giant powerhouse Mac Pro act as a server would be pretty cool, but I don't know how servers work so I may be wrong).. I'm no professional at anything, just a plain college student with a basic consumer outlook on things..

The Samsung UI skin for their Android smartphones copies iOS's UI design to the T! I don't think the tablet claim holds as much water, but they surely deserve to win on the grounds for the smartphone.. Samsung STRAIGHT UP copied there.

This makes them resist things that are advocated by the scientific community, whether it's evolution, vaccination, or evidence-based medicine. So when scientists clamor about changing to the metric system, it raises two questions in the minds of people; 1) Why should I trust this person? and 2) Is the change really necessary?
I don't doubt scientists when they advocate for the metric system, in science. Howeve, since most of the advantages of the metric system are really reserved to the sciences, the question of whether or not everything in life should be metric really isn't a scientific one; it's an economic and convenience one. In my daily life I do not need to easily convert between the mass of water and its volume or take temperatures relative to the boiling point of water.

locked up my mac multiple times and possibly was the cause of my bootcamp partition getting completely ruined

TBH, probably wasn't the AV.. when you dual boot there are so many bugs that go on w/ OSX. I never dual boot anymore because it would always lock my Mac up..
I saw a lady today at the Apple Store, and goes to the Genius Bar.. and the first thing she says "Hi, I am having troubles with my iMac, I dual booted through Boot Camp w/ Windows 7, and it crashed my Mac." I LOL'd and the genius's confirmed it was the cause of dual boot. I don't trust it... not one bit.

The batteries of note are probably for the nano/shuffle, not the touch. Hence why the supply isn't a problem yet with the iphones.

Woodcrest was announced at least two weeks before Conroe. Woodcrest is supposedly available now - Apple's just waiting for WWDC...
Xeon (Woodcrest) chips are not generally used by PC manufacturers for desktops, so Apple doesn't have the same level of pressure to release a Mac Pro based on it. At least in my opinion.

If I were starting a business and seeking investors, it would sure be a lot harder to get investors when the capital gains rate is 35% rather than 15%. That business would never materialize. Mobileme is certainly worth more than free. Apple doesn't scrape your emails and other data to target adds at you a la Google.
I could see Apple making some features of Mobileme free. I don't think they're just going kill a revenue stream but they could offer a basic free Mobileme account which gives you.

I have to admit, it was an odd stance for me to take, too. (I'm pretty much a libertarian, yet I found myself arguing with a conservative Republican who was completely against the idea of tariffs ever being of any value.)
My point to him was, although I find tariffs to be evil, *sometimes*, I think they're a necessary evil, because we don't really have any other effective tools to use to prevent another nation from dumping products on us at below cost, in an effort to put one of our own industries under. IMO, China is essentially doing this with things like computers and electronics because they're selling the products to us without incorporating all of the *true* costs of their manufacture. (EG. They're destroying complete cities and rivers over there with pollution, rather than incurring the cost to properly dispose of/handle the byproducts of the production.)
I'm all for a free market, but I think the playing field has to be somewhat level too, for it to function properly. We've reached a point now where the United States says it respects certain basic human rights and freedoms, (including providing workers with a safe working environment) - yet we want our companies to compete directly with goods we're bringing in from other countries who don't share any of those values. At some point, that becomes impossible.
Historically, we used to pay FAR more for a computer in the 80's than we do today, *even* if inflation isn't even factored in! For example, the very popular Radio Shack TRS-80 Model III computer? They wanted $2,495 for it with 32K of RAM and dual floppy drives, back in 1980!
I like to get a good value as much as the next guy, but honestly - we've collectively been paying too low a price for our computer gear in recent years. It's reached a point where it's causing a lot of long-term damage at the expense of the initial good of getting a great price. (Have you seen all the consolidation happening with hard drive manufacturers, recently? Great companies have died off and had to merge with other ones because the margins have gotten so low. Remember Maxtor, or Micropolis before them, anyone?)

Here! Here! Though I'd be much happier to have the option to upgrade to the GeForce Go 7900 GTX. :D I just don't know how practical to the average user it would be in a MBP. For me, it would be very practical.

Kind of a stupid way to write it. That's why most people add unnecessary parentheses when writing equations on a computer in ascii.

I don't see how people end up with 2? What ever PEMDAS is (french-Canadian here). A division is just the inverse of a multiplication, how could one have precedence over the other (same for addition and subtraction)? 48(1/2)(9+3) gives the same answer. It sounds like a lot of people don't really understand what they are doing but rather following a magic spell.
The confusion really is what is being divided is it 2 or 24. Even if you follow pemdas you should end up with :
48/2(9+3)
=48/2(12)
=24(12)=288.
