Here's a novel thought. Why doesn't Microsoft create something, you know, novel?

As if, but noone knows what will happen. I mean, what were their projections back in 2004 for 2009-10? Obviously no Apple factor lol!

I think he just said "we hope to take this international in 2007" meaning tough **** you will have to wait most probably end of 2007.
In Belgium they promised us TV shows for still no word if that will be the case.
It has only HDMI and component video outputs. These outputs are found only on HDTVs.
Not true, al least not here in Belgium, and probably not in the US, too.
All TV sets here have Component or SCART, which is basically your component pushed together in one block. When iTV is released here it will also include component to SCART as a standard accesory.
They did last February - http://sanjose.bizjournals.com/sanjose/stories/2006/02/27/story5.html

Wonder if they are using it for iTunes?
I know, otherwise I wouldn't have known anything about data centers in the first place. They probably use it for iTS, since ,Mac hasn't really grown much

Because I don't know much about computers- can Leopard run on just Core Duo processors or does it need to be Core 2 Duo?
Leopard will even run on PowerPC macs.

As I stated in a few posts up I'm not that happy with the pricing of the iTunes Movies, but, if I were to buy any I would quickly run into a huge problem - STORAGE! I have an iBook with 60 GB drive and it's almost full from other stuff.
Apple should come out with a home storage network server with RAID, etc.
that's my hold back right now. i just don't have space for movies on my powerbook, and putting them on external media wouldn't make sense, at that point i could just toss a dvd or two in my backpack.

Haha, I agree. I always assume that Apple are about to bring their various desktop systems in line with their latest laptops technologically, and that assumption is very rarely wrong. :p
Seems like a "safe" rumor to me. He may even be making this up to build buzz, and probably still be right...

I think it would be kinda cool in a retro way. Just put the numbers on the click wheel. while most people just select the person on the list. which the iPod are really good at.
How many times do you actually punch in the numbers on your cellphone today? I tend to find more or less all numbers I call from my phone book or push "call back". It is very rare that I use the keypad.

I think someone was right when they pointed out that Apple was attacked because Green Peace believed that we as Mac lovers are all tree hugging hippies. I think this thread alone put an end to that train of thought.
This has NOTHING to do with environmentalism, president Bush, or freedom of speech. It has to do with a the organizers of a privately held event kicking out an attendee for violating the terms it had set. As the organizer and funder of the event it had every right to kick out anyone it saw fit for any reason. If green peace was making it slightly uncomfortable for Apples other attendees then they are very justified in their reaction.
Just my 2 cents.

Stick to the cables, you need 802.11n minimum to do this and it will kill your home network. Nobody else at home can do anything else.
Well if its your network. screw everyone else I say. lol:cool:

Maybe they should have run all their benchmarks at the same time!It also depends if you can run multiple instances of that application. A little help here Multimedia? I know you've used multiple instances of Toast. Care to enlighten us on what other applications we can do the same? Maybe we should make a guide on it...

I thought so. We've beaten Core 2 Duo chips to death and their design.

you guys do realize gas is like 9 dollars a gallon in europe right?
Well with a minimum wage of 19 bucks I imagine it is not as much of any issue as it is in America. Plus European countries aren't nearly the size of the United States, so driving is done less.(also likely one of the reasons for less drinking and driving accidents and deaths...along with being introduced to drinking at a younger age in most countries there)

this moel apple is using is fine, but 2 things need to happen, 1, much teh same as netflix, they should send you a blank dvd with case for each order, and secondly, like the music, all cover art should be given as well. it should be burnable, I would pay 9.99 for movie with the convinience of download, for this proce, even with the less quality if I could burn my own dvd, put it in any dvd player and watch it. but I want all teh artwork as well, so i can FEEL my dvd library growing,
andreasIt's a simple equation, really,...
Netflix account + $5.99 Used DVDs = comes with Plastic Box, Free Shipping and Original Artwork!

Its a diesel ;). But I guess it also shows how crazy US emissions regulations are.
Is it emissions regulation or just plain laziness by the automakers?

No, I don't think people can spontaneously tell the difference between aluminium and (stainless) steel. I'm talking about people with no knowledge about metallurgy whatsoever. Believe me, they have no idea. They don't know what is lighter and what is more durable. If I told people that my macbook is made out of silver they would believe me.
And I don't doubt that Liquid Metal will offer new possibilities in matters of manufacturing, so that the macbook's body can be made thinner while keeping it's durability. But my point really is, that people here are expecting it to be some kind of magic material that will completely change the experience of using their macbook. They think it will be different from aluminium as aluminium is from plastic. It's just another kind of metal, almost indistinguishable from any other metal. I hope you understand what I mean.
Haha. Silver. Collector's edition?
I see what you're sayin' but I still think that liquid metal DOES offer new possibilities in manufacturing precisely because it is stronger. Apple will then sell this unique product (assuming they actually adopt it - which may be too expensive) to the consumer as an added, and magical, feature. People don't have to have 'metallurgic' knowledge to be wowed by good advertising and think it is going to change there user experience. I for one, think dropping my MBP with a liquid metal chasis would be a better experience than the Al ones which dent and deform quite easily. Maybe it could be an optional build for the high-end model. Say for an additional $300? Marketed to the demanding professional, etc.

I'm thinking of an Apple/Canon merger? I was hoping for a buyout of leica or kodak, but I think a Canon merger might work. We haven't seen any large mergers buyouts since HP/Compaq and something is going to happen soon. Though I don't know if this is true or not Steve Jobs and Canon have had close ties for nearly 15 years and I've noticed this recently with the Canon products being given first priority in there digital/video store. At one time Canon even invested something like $10 million into NEXT. Snapping(excuse the pun) Canon would help with a huge amount of patents and might be easier then starting from scratch with a camera or camcorder.

who the hell are cingular? what about orange t-mobile, vodaphone or o2? I guess it's US only again...
Did you even read the link?
Speculation is that O2 will have the exclusive rights to the iPhone in Europe. You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think O2 is somehow connected to Orange. So it looks like the iPhone will have a carrier in Europe and the UK.
