that's an obvious price misprint. maybe on black friday you could see a price close to that for the ten minutes before they sell out, but last time I was at Fry's (last week) those drives were over $300 each

it's about time; my V360's nice, but it doesn't have the same features as my T610, and vice versa, especially when it comes to salling clicker. also i'm in the market for a new ipod. apple, release a device that handles my needs!

I'll be there, but I'll be with my Sis and her bf. Pretty much just tagging along with them. She doesn't like to plan, so I have no idea what we'll be doing. Her bf gets to watch the keynote. Lucky bastard.
Maybe I'll see some of you there. I look like me, plus ten pounds. Damn holiday cooking.

Why is their no looting in Japan?
the answer is very simple ... The population of Japan is made up of mostly Japanese culture.
The guy on CNN last night summed it up best ... there is a bit of looting ... and it is being committed by foreigners.

They should choose to make it out of a metal that has a hardness rating higher than common metals found in coins and car keys. Does anybody know if magnesium is particularly hard to scratch? Seriously, it's not that out of the realm of possibility to have an iPod made out of a scratch-resistant material.\
EDIT: argh villanova, beat me.
And honest to god, they should make the iPods waterproof, how hard would that be? Seriously? Put a single gasket around where the metal back meets the frontplate and some other small adjustments?

I love Office 2011 for Mac (Word especially). The only problem with it for me (so far) is on Outlook I can't open New Email Messages. I use Chrome for my Gmail, so I don't care. If this update fixes this issue, I'll give Outlook a shot. It's okay on my work PC.

It is a power port. The new 360 has that port so you can just plug the Kinect camera into it alone. If you have an older 360, it will connect by USB, while needing a power connection to the wall. Kinect is compatible with every 360, new or old.
so they are shipping the Kinect with: a power cable, an usb cable and this Kinect port cable ?
why not simply ship it with power cable + usb and save on the manufacturing of an extra, special cable and designing a whole new connection port on the motherboard ? not to speak of confusion for customers

Just because you can buy a PC system which includes the monitor, don't think you getting the monitor for free. You can bet its price is added in total cost of the system. Often that monitor is cheaply made to lower the price of the complete package.
I didn't say PCs include a monitor. Avro said that Mac Pro gives you a better display than what other OEMs offer, which is false, since Mac Pro does not include a monitor. There is also the fact that you can use the ACD with PCs as well, or any other display with the Mac Pro.

Maybe its just me or maybe the problems are not as bad as they seem but I'm really getting afraid to load any update from Apple unless I have a specific problem that is supposed to be corrected.

I use an app called Nocturne. There's an option to invert the menu bar, and I think its kick ass :)
Did you have any problems with the time not being visible or any other "side effects". I remember downloading and trying this with Nocturne but it wasn't as easy or effective as I had hoped. Was it easy? Anyone else have experience with Nocturne?
I always try to keep things simple.
1. I love this. Do you have the original?
2. What font is your geektool (network) data?

They may as well not bother releasing iLife '07 in that case. Just go straight to '08
In which case, how about they tell us? I've been holding off on buying '06 since December because '07 is supposedly imminent. If they told us '07 definitely would not be out until the end of this year, I'd just get my credit card out and purchase '06, but I don't want to do that if '07 will be out in early May. I'm not asking for a detailed feature breakdown, just a quick comment on whether it's going to be out soon or at the same time as Leopard.
Sometimes Apple's stupid secrecy gets to me big time :(

I think that most of the time if you have something that isn't allowed then you have the chance of getting suspended anyway. I think the original poster got lucky and I say I was just lucky and the school was just tired of talking to me so they let you me go. However arguing usually does make it worse and in my situation there was things on my iPhone that the school absolutely didn't need to see and I didn't see how I had to give it up.
Why take that attitude? Sometimes it is nothing more than a simple mistake. However, if you automatically start to throw defenses up, you will make people think that you have something to hide. I would simply lock the device and hand it over then retrieve it on the way home. No biggie.

Well, since it hasn't been proven that it was stolen yet, it would be false to call it stolen property.
Additionally, Grokster can only be punished for purchasing stolen goods if they pay OVER $5000. They paid $5000, so they are in the clear (if I read the state law correctly).
Ok, allude to the fact it could be stolen property. But, certainly don't leave that very important factor into this situation out.

Oct 11 works with what they told me at the Apple store: "We'll have them in-store in early to mid October."
It's good for my wallet that they didn't have a rack of them in-store on Thursday...

Guess what - now a bunch of people who were going to buy this won't buy anything and just wait. Great. You're so obsessed with calling it stealing - HEY - guess what - Apple still makes money off of it and last time I checked making $ is better than not making $. We even see legitimate edu customers getting shafted by this. One poor guy's g/f is now stuck with an e-machine. Yeah that's just wonderful. Is it stealing if you go to Amazon.com and get the $100 discount on the MacBook? That's all it is - a $100 discount (historically speaking) and apple is, in fact, in the business of 1 - Making $ and 2- Increasing user-base (which results in making money). Hurry hurry, quick quick. Grab a calculator. What is greater. 10%*899*1000(just a guess as to how many purchases would be made by people who otherwise aren't going to get a Mac) or 0*0*0. That's right - if you sell things at any profit margin to people who otherwise wouldn't buy anything you are still doing better!!!!!!!!!! Get an economic brain in your head - or better yet - grab some common sense and get off your high horse.
Apple is greedy, what's new.
They rather make $0 than to make less, because you know why? The person who end up not getting still has that desire to satisfy, the person who bought cheap? There goes the near future sale.
