Can you name a few more? I have only seen Sony support AAC on their PMP devices.
From my own experience the PS3 and the Nintendo DSi all read iTunes purchased music, albeit with some metadata weirdness.

Others have touched on this as well, but here's what Charlie said in one of his latest interviews (http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/41824830/ns/today-entertainment/):
Okay, this is past the point where it's funny. This man has some very serious mental issues. He's starting to out-crazy Gadhafi -- and that's not easy.
Agreed. This guy is beyond sick. If someone doesn't intervene soon, he's going to kill himself, someone else, or both.

I love the Macbook Air but I would hate it if they released a new one. Especially since this was only out in 10/2010.

Interesting, considering there are only 194 recognized countries on Earth. Which planet are the other 6 countries located on?
Earth:
1. The Arctic
2. The Antarctic
3. Canada
4. Texas
5. California
6.+ The Independent Countries located in the Florida Keys...
:p

I'm starting to think it will be. If you look at the "big picture" it makes sense. The iPod is in decline, so Apple's previous big Fall music event isn't really big anymore. The iPhone could shore that up and bring lots of sales to 4Q and maybe even, reinvigorate iPod sales.
Apple then uses early summer to push new Macs for back to school. Late winter/early Spring remains iPad.
I agree
The iPhone is currently the jewel in the crown for Apple so moving it to Autumn will make the latest device the main Christmas gift.
iPods won't be boosted in my opinion though; they mainly appeal to those who dont want an iPhone but use iTunes/want more than 32GB of storage.
They'll boost if they turn it into a fully fledged media behomoth that plugs into a tv and can stream as well as download from iTunes....but at a much cheaper price than an iPhone.

I'll say it before, and I'll say it again, this is a critical time for Apple and it's no time to be an Apple apologist. It's time to hold Apple's feet to the fire. Being soft on them isn't helping them. It's just enabling them not to realize their full potential.

That is a dude not a girl.
Hard to believe everybody just stood around and let those girls assault him like that. As far as the seizure....that looks fake as all get out. I have seen a person have a seizure and it was no way near that violent.
If a fake seizure is what it takes to get those ****ing animals to stop attacking you, then so be it.

Not for what I'm doing. Pages strikes me as something for newsletters, not writing well-researched articles and novels.
Not true
I used Pages to do a college term paper which was over 40 pages long. My lecturer commented it was the best presented he had seen for years.
Perhaps the issue people are having with Pages is that it looks too easy compared to Word and that confuses them. You really do need to use Pages as a Word replacement to appreciate how good is actually is.
iWork '07 will be great.

I still don't get the value of wireless in a music player--not in actual practice (battery life and added bulk, vs. the need to plug in to charge, which naturally takes longer than synching anyway).
But whatever it is, I think its chances will depend a lot on whether it can be as slim and light as an iPod, and the same elegant ease-of-use as iTunes and iPod.
If it has those things, the X-Box name could carry it to some kind of success. But of course there can be more than one successful product in a market--Apple is not in danger.

I have nothing against Apple shareholders (both shorts and longs :D). It's just this is not a forum for them. This is their forum: http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/mb/AAPL
This is my new favorite post. You, the guy who owns no Apple products (save for a battery charger) and quite clearly dislikes Apple, telling someone they are on the wrong forum.

Change is good.
With the iPhones overwhelming success, if this is true, it's nothing but good news.
This will also teach impulse control to many.

I like your idea and I think it would work in many situations if there is indeed going to be a "transition phase" toward a new type of connection format. However, I'll stick by my prediction as it offers the maximum benefit for Apple and its third party partners while keeping the whole user interaction simpler and more elegant. The Nike situation is different in the respect that it is really the only way to make a product like that workcan't have a bunch of wires getting in the way of running. I know the iPod Hi-Fi probably isn't selling well enough for Apple to worry that a new connection format would hurt their own profit margin much, but there are a LOT of third party partners out there that have only recently given it their best because Apple has probably assured them that the dock connector will be around for quite some time, so third party R&D won't be a black hole or recurring expense in that area. It is what has helped the accessory market evolve to the point it has, which has benefitted Apple immensly-don't think Apple doesn't realize that fact! It is also what is missing from the also-ran MP3 manufacturers: not enough consistency to make it worth their investment to produce for those products.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Of course, it COULD have both....
how about
a 30 $ optional wireless receiver that acts as a female dock connector to plug into the existing iPod docks?
