You do realise you can switch your multi-path policy to something like Round-Robin or Least used link or something and use both your fabrics at the same time, giving you double bandwidth (in your 4 Gig port configuration, giving you 8 Gbps, or in a 8 Gbps FC configuration, 16) right ? Actually, you should have a look at what it is set to, some versions of ESX and ESXi are completely retarded and set the default policy to use Fabric 1 only (older versions prior to 4.x didn't have a supported configuration for using both paths at the same time, the support was experimental I believe).
Or you can run FCoE or FCoIP and use dual 10 Gbps for FC on the cheap (I do realise HBAs can be pricey). Or heck, iSCSI over 10 Gbps links...
Also, looking at my current I/O statistics for one of our biggest ESXi boxes (about 20 VMs), I see we average about... 10 mbps over the fiber. ;) Servers aren't constantly writing at full bandwidth anyhow and the convenience of centralized SAN management trumps Direct Attached Storage any day of the week in a data center environnement.
Heck, I wish our DMZ servers could be attached to the SAN (stupid Security policies) so that I could actually grow the filesystems on which the file repository sits... seeing how Sun (now Oracle) wants to charge us over 10k$ for about 72 GBs of disks, just because the hardware is EOL'd and it lacks the 2nd controller so that we can use the drive bays that are free in it...
If I am not mistaken our PE 2970s are 10gig (x4), I do not know about the Equallogic (I'm just the "helper" on most of this anyway) but I assume it is 10gig as well. What makes this funny to me is that we should be able to use one physical link per server back to the equallogic and have greater throughput versus going from the 2950 to a 3com 4500 (1gig switch, I 10gig switch would be a great start here) and back to the equallogic. (that would throw out redundancy though)(Lead systems guy threw in a 4400 by mistake initally) Most of our VMs are file sharing servers instead of processing servers, I would think the higher the transmit speed the better. We also recently added an R715 and it likes to take the brunt of the load from the cluster (16 physical cores/32GB RAM in it vs 8/32GB in the 2950s) so it having greater throughput would be helpful. That's all well and good on a forum, but the intention of the author can matter a lot more in real-world scenarios. I completed a my master's research year in chemistry last year, and that involved a lot of equations. If someone in my group had sent me a quick email with this equation I would expect to see-
(48/2)(9+3) or 48/[2(9+3)]
This is even more important when the equations I was using were a lot more complex!

To treat a / at face value when there were no brackets to verify the exact meaning would have been silly. It could have meant hours or days of wasted work and analysis, and that makes it my problem!

I don't know if I buy this whole shortage thing.
If there is such a big shortage, why aren't people/businesses creating more production plants and capitalizing on the demand (which is only getting started from the looks of it). Where there is serious demand there is serious $$$ to be made!
It seems like basic economics to me but I've been wrong before...
Lg and Samsung both are completing multi billion $ plants mid 2011 for OLED panels that next gen iPhones and iPad's will use - Apple has already ordered over $7 billion $ of production to run on these lines.

I don't have anything against the iPhone 4, I have one myself. But looking objectively at the technical specifications of other phones sold now, I have to say the internal design is dated.
Agreed, if you look at technical specifications, you can find newer tech on the market with more features. That's sort of the leapfrog game that all phones play.
Apple is unlike other phone manufacturers in that they don't get all feverish about playing the game. They look at the big picture: does the phone do what the consumer wants it to do. Apple makes sure the technical specifications of the iPhone stay current with that mandate for the largest class of consumer. It's the other companies chasing Apple that keep trumping their own tech specs with newer tech specs in the hopes of drawing a larger audience. Apple takes a longer view.

Given the last Ford we purchased leaked and after 6 months of trying to fix it, the Ford dealer said "well, everything leaks" and said they'd give a good deal on it to trade it in if we wanted. And the last GM we had stalled every morning when you were pulling out on to the road and the dealer said that it was "just the way the car was made," and could never fix it I wouldn't buy an American made car unless they started getting good reports both for quality upfront (they just sound cheap compared to a Honda, Mercedes, Lexus, Porsche, or Toyota) and for quality over 5-6+ years of ownership. And the previous American made cars we had were of similar low quality.
So for the last 11 years, I've been buying non-American. It is too bad, but the quality is not there. I even looked at one with a friend in November and it was the same deal.

Turn off location services, encrypt backup, or turn off phone. Problem solved? The backup contains more private things anyways. But the media has scared people again, the same people who complain about facebook's privacy while they post all their info on Facebook for everyone to see.

Yes it is true. It is hidden by default now. Takes only a second to make it appear again though, so I don't see why it's that big of a deal? Any technical user that needs to see the Library folder will enable it, and anyone who isn't technical enough won't ever need to access it.

Not that I'd normally be accessing my media via a desktop website. That's why Amazon also offer a nice and visually friendly (https://ssl.gstatic.com/android/market/com.amazon.mp3/ss-1-320-480-160-2-251c9c92d6a55c8108001da1d17520acb8db9c80) app for your mobile devices :).
I'm not going to give a full critique to Amazon's UI and UX design, but when you look at Apple's UIs and Apple's apps next to these Amazon one's do you not notice a major difference in simplicity, fit and finish, and polish???
I'm not saying you can't use the Amazon stuff, but Apple has powerfully demonstrated many times over now for years, that user experience and beautiful design ABSOLUTELY DOES make a big impact!
Take a look at the UI of iBooks, or the new iMovie and Garage Band, or Contacts, or all of the iWork apps on iPad, etc. etc. BEAUTIFUL UIs and very creative, cultural, simplistic and elegant! Also WebOS has some beautiful UI design.

If it's not GSM it will be a massive failure. Focusing on a relatively small under developed market (the US) would be silly when a vibrannt global market is out there. Europe, Japan, and most importantly China (proobably the biggest growing market for phones) all work on GSM.

iOS isn't losing market you morons, the market is simply expanding and Android is better positioned in their product lineup to attract a wider variety of consumer. You can buy Android phones on all four major carriers and also with companies like Boost and Cricket. We are not slicing up the same size pie, the pie is getting bigger.
I agree Apple needs to revamp iOS, but this survey doesn't indicate Apple is failing, it simply shows that more and more people are moving from feature phones to smart phones.

If ARM are creating a new architecture to compete with the x86 then Apple will make sure that their OS works on it - just in case a good reason emerges for a switch. If there is any basis whatsoever to this rumour - then this is probably it.

But it's funny how the whole Mac Pro is a killer machine but they still neglect the video cards, seriously a nVidia Geforce 7300GT.
If you don't like the video card then upgrade it to the quadro and go play your Doom 3 at 110fps...
